The Ambition of the HER Pillar and its Translation into ODE4HERA Goals

The ODE4HERA project aims to accelerate the development of hybrid-electric regional aircraft to support the final demonstration by 2035. This is done by integrating advanced technologies, developed in the Clean Aviation HER Pillar projects, like Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO), and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Its objective is to create an Open Digital Platform, that supports development while remaining neutral regarding proprietary solutions. Additionally, it focuses on providing comprehensive guidelines, methods, and tools for future block model integration. This approach ensures rigorous validation and verification processes to identify and address potential errors before implementation, enhancing virtual certification. To see how this is achieved, read more under Methodology.

“The final demonstration is a regional aircraft with technologies ready for entry into service by 2035, incorporating product-viable solutions for technologies, integration, infrastructure, and certification. The aircraft will include hybrid-electric propulsion supported by 100% drop-in fuels or hydrogen (whether fuel cells or H2 burning as the thermal power source) to reach up to 90% lower emissions while being fully compliant with ICAO noise rules."   [Hybrid-electric Regional Aircraft | Clean Aviation - new link]
