Airbus Defence and Space GmbH

Airbus Defence and Space GmbH is a division of Airbus SE. It was formed in January 2014 from the former EADS divisions Airbus Military, Astrium, and Cassidian. Its products and services contribute to security in many different ways. They range from aircraft that enable nations to protect their airspace and people (including the A400M, the A330 MRTT, the C295 and the Eurofighter), to intelligence capabilities (observation satellites, maritime surveillance), ground-based space services, cyber security and secure satellite communications solutions for government defence departments, public safety and emergency response organisations. The division operates in dozens of countries on all continents.

The mission of Airbus Defence and Space is to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world. They aim to lead the journey towards clean aerospace, help customers defend their values, and connect and unite people across the globe.

Airbus Defence and Space is positioned as a key player in FCAS (Future Combat Air System), Europe’s largest defence programme for decades to come, and currently under phase 1B. Furthermore, Airbus Defence and Space actively participates in various research initiatives, including expanding its Earth observation constellation with the Pléiades Neo Next program.
